Try the newest stable release from the author.  See if you still have the same problem and let us know.

please tell me step by step what you do.
1. start hfs.exe
2. click on my root directory what to open it
3. move cursor on the list of files up-down in virtual file system window
4. computer is buzzed)) sometimes without message "Out of memory"

i guess this has to do with the data/settings on your HFS.
please, can you send me as much of it?
to send me your settings, save options -> to file, and send me your hfs.ini
then your VFS file. send all privately, because it may contain passwords.
you also talked about "comments" before ?

i tried, but no error came up.
try to
- understand if the problem is about exactly one of those files
- see how much RAM is hfs using when that error pops up
- see if you can get this error also on another computer

I have this problem too.
The error always occurred suddenly and I don't know why.

I am using Windows Vista Ultimate 32bits.

it doesn't seem the same error to me.
can you tell me what HFS version are you using?
a similar problem has been fixed a month ago, and i fear you are using not the last version.
