I just tested with IE and Opera.
You can down load a file, but a 5.97 mb mp3 was 3k. A 256 byte text file down loaded as
3k, and when I opened it, it was the "Resource Not Available" page/tpl.
I don't have Firefox, but maybe its a Firefox bug? Are you sure it down loaded the complete
file ?

No it doesn't download the file.  I tested in all browsers.  If anything is downloaded it is a small html file that when you open it tells you the file isn't downloadable 403.

If you use the "Save as..." feature of FF, you force the browser to download whatever it gets from that link. In this case: the Forbidden page. Voilà. Have fun with it.

Save under?  I don't see that option in v2.0.0.3.   Where is it?  (not my default browser).

I think it's called Save as.... I'll correct my post above.

There is Save Link as... but that's all I see.  That doesn't work.  The download received with FF is just a small corrupt archive by the same filename.  The full file didn't download when the HFS option of "No Download" is active.  Maybe you did something different.

Is there a Save target as...? Sorry, my FF is in German...

You won't ever get the file with No download on. All you get is what HFS sends you. In the case of an "example.zip" file, you get a file named "example.zip" countaining nothing more than the HTML code of the 403 Forbidden page.

Exactly what I said. HFS if working properly. Whew...  ;D Rename it to something.html and enjoy your Forbidden page!  ::)

though the browser gets an error page, it gets also an error code.
the browser should warn the user about this, but it doesn't.
so the user thinks he got the file. :(
