archiveable [inherited]

I was playing around with HFS setting up the TOG and noticed that if the root folder is archiveable then all the sub folders are aswell. I dont see any problem with this except that I couldnt manually set any of the sub folders to not be archiveable.

If the root folder ('/') is set as archiveable, it appears that everything below it inherits that setting and overrides any other manual setting.  This might be by design or a bug.

if you don't want all subfolders to be archivable, then disable the root and enable for the subfolders you want.

Yes, that's what I thought.  And that's the way I archive the roots subfolders.

So when the root folder isn't archivable and the subfolders are, how to get a sub-sub-folder archived and transfered? When trying this, all I get is  "This resource is not accessible". With a sub-folder it works. Just not with deeper folders.

I am unsure if this is a bug or security measure of HFS.

ok, the archive is unallowed.
i guess the reason is permissions set for that folder.
if you want to download the archive of a folder, it must be Archivable+Browsable and "No download" must be disabled.

1. can you access that aavikko folder?
2. can you download a file from it?

All O.K.

Yes and yes.

Strange enough: Even access by tar archive works, when i try it from the PC where hfs.exe is running on! Thanks for assuring me, that it should/could work even with deep folders!
But from office and with the same hfs-account, but through company proxy and firewall, my NAT router with opened port and my personal Firewall, the access fails with above message. And only with tar access to 'deep' folders!! Single file download, etc is O.K. !! Any idea   I'll try to do some additional tests with a laptop in local net..
