Title: Disable Logging of "Address Ever Connected"??
Post by: SoKoOLz on February 29, 2008, 03:57:49 PM
Hi all,

I know this function is really useful. However, I need to disable this function.
I'm running my antivirus update server and there are so many peers connected to it everyday.

Eventually, my hfs.ini file grew to 2MB and it is very very slow when starting the program.
I need to manual edit the hfs.ini file and remove all the IPs, and after that everything is seems to be ok again?

Is there any other way to disable this option?

I've tried seaching and wiki page already.

Thanks

no way.
but i will fix this soon by moving the data to another file.
and if this won't be enough, i'll let you disable the saving of the addresses.

are you using 2.2 or 2.3 ?

็Hi, Rejetto ^^

If you can give me the option to let me disable this function, this would be very helpful.
I've noticed that it uses Half of my CPU when it saves more IPs to the file. (50% @ 1.5MB of .ini file)

I'm using the latest beta version:
2.3 Build 180

Thank you very much Rejetto

YES, that is right. I'm sure it's the problem with the junk of IP address in one big file.
It's not the way HFS writes to the file.

This will only happens when I have more than 1.5MB of my .ini file.

It works fine with the normal .ini file size (14k)

Ok, After I have tested the fixed hfs version (build 182).

Everything works perfectly, I don't need to come and reset those addresses anymore. (Now I got 7000+ addresses ever connected logged! WOW). No crashing no Lagging. Everything loads smoothly form the start till exiting of the program.

BTW: I have one more issue about updating HFS version (via auto update), Do I  need to post a new thread on this or not?
I've been having this flash DOS prompt error when updating.. where it wants to replace the old version with the new one it gives out "...hfs.exe, 'Access is denied'". I think you need to use some command like "taskkill /F /IM hfs.exe". So that it kills the porcess completely allowing the access to replace (delete) the old HFS version.

Thanks very much Rejetto, You rocks!
