Seems like the speed problem is still not solved, i tried 2.2f (latest stable build), 2.2f speed version and 2.3 (latest bèta).
None of this is working is it should be, they are all behaving strange when transfering files.
Here is a screenshot of 2.2f speed version
( i Have a dedicated 450KB/s VDSL2 line with PPPoE connection )
This is a transfer to a turboupload.com server (throughput > 1MB/s)

Any news on this problem?
People from the same country (Belgium) can download faster (but still limited by the bug) then for example people in the US.
Something to do with latency or hop count?

Update
With the normal 2.2 version, the speed is very limited but stable (on LAN and on WAN connections)
+- stable 40% of max possible speed.

With 2.2 speed edition, the speed is less limited but very unstable.
+- variable speed between 5% and 70% of max possible speed.

if you tried latest beta and it made the same problem, then you should test if the problem is with  your connection.

if you don't know how to do, then try uploading to an ftp, or to sendspace.com
while you are using a monitor (even the task manager of Windows has a tab for it)

Great! With the latest version (2.3) i get the same LAN speed with HTTP (HFS) FTP and SMB, this problem is fixed!
But, the "sawtooth" upload speed is not yet solved :/
Seems like a problem with my line or DSL modem.. or my ISP is limiting my upload speed by 'cutting' in the signal.

Edit:
Wait wait, the speed problem of HFS is not solved. The CPU usage of hfs237.exe is 100% and this is limiting the speed.
With HFS, i can download over a wired LAN network at 2,3MB/s (than HFS is hanging at 100% cpu usage).
With a normal FTP transfer over the same LAN i get a maximum of 9MB/s.

I also have seen the same problem - with "sawtooth" uploads.  With local LAN access the speed is very fast. Even with local internet access the speed remans high and constant.

The problem seems to happen with users further away - I have duplicated problem with US and Australian users - different ISP's of course. I have two separate ISP (one fibre, one adsl) and the problem is with both - again only when user is lng disctance away.
CPU load is very low - 5-7% - so that doesn't seem to be the problem.

I am certain I didnt have the problem a year ago - but cannot honestly say when it started - or whether it coincided with updated version.

Any thoughts as to what might be the problem - can I get an older version to retry?

Thanks in advance

you find all previous versions in the "beta" forum board (since you are using beta version)

maybe the users have maxed there download speed , so they cant download any faster.....
