Author Topic: My Friendo also cannot see my files  (Read 2062 times)

i used the program and it looks really easy to use Cheesy ,  :eek: but the problem is that my friends cannot enter, i can see my files localy but they cannot see them.
i have used the version hfs 1.6a, hfs 1.5g and hfs 2.0 alpha14 but anyone works, i´m not behind a router, my pc is hooked directly to the cablemodem, my speed is of 512kbps
My operating system is Windows Me.
Also a friend who tell me about this program cannot use, it has a 64kbps conection an the operating system Windows Xp, but i cannot see his archives or he my files, the error that the explorer show is, Page cannot be show, server not found.

What we can do? :?:

Does your ISP allow servers to be used on the connection?

No i´m not using a firewall, and i´m not sure if my isp allow servers in their conection, but a friend that he has the same isp as me, he can use it, and also he thinks is strange that i cannot use and he yes can. :roll:

If you are using Windows XP, check to see if ICF/Windows Firewall is turned on for your connection. If so, turn it off and see what happens.

R u REALLY sure that winXP's _BUILT-IN_ firewall is turned off too?
Because it is on for default.

check on address bar if port no is included after IP or not...if not then double click on HOME picture which you will find under "Vertual File System" and make sure port number must come up after IP, after that ask your friend type the address including port no... I am 100% sure he will see your page after :!:  :idea:

I'm using it for a quite long time and my problem is that
i love it. I think it is logical, easy to configure and "clever"
but sometimes i don't konw why it block ALL TRAFFIC.
I have to shutdown and restart it and i works again...
So i don't know whether to change it or not.
