check betas doesn't work for me behind firewall (using socks2http)

check-betas is an option for check-updates function
if check-updates works, then check-betas works too
the protocol used by check-updates is http on port 80
it requests http://www.rejetto.com/&RQ/updateinfo.txt

but the last version, specified by that file is 8.1.13:
