Hey everyone. I'm in a bit of a hole here... My DSL modem is using my external IP as its address for the control panel, how do i stop this and use the external as an ip for HFS?

Details: I Get the external ip via HFS. I tell my friends to put it in their browser and try it out. They say they get a message saying that they could not log into my modem configuration. Which is nice, at least no one will hack my modem config, but i want to have an external ip free for the HFS. What do i do??? Cry

This is a router/port issue.
First read the manual of your modem.
Second external service of the modem/router is a NoNo!
Question on which port is does the service menu reside? It should not be port 80.
On which port does HFS serve?
Read topics on portforwarding and properly configure your router/modem.
