I just "finally" downloaded the new version of hfs from http://www.tgeri.hu/hfs/.  Mirrors are good but shouldn't there be some kind of minimum speed limit.  It took quite sometime to get that 500k file from this mirror.  The download speed was equivalent to a 33.6 k dialup modem and the transfer kept stopping and I had to keep restarting.

i asked for a speed minimum, but forgot to test.
30k/s should be the very minimum.

my connection should be 10mbit as this is a server of an ISP. If you say it is slower than i will get in touch with the provider. I can only test it form Hungary, maybe they give me small international width. I will ask.

10mbit would be your download speed.  What is your upload speed?

The speed when downloading that file from your mirror was 3.5 k/s.  Like a 33.6k dialup modem.  Maybe there was something wrong with your connection the day I downloaded the file but it was definitely slow.

i measured the speed (in italy) of every running mirror, in KB/s

tgeri 20
melauto 129
fast-ip 129
wptg 65
omega 25

the faster two are italians, no wonder.
can someone make the test in another country? better if outside europe.

@rejetto: badly i must say, that free.fr are not the fastest atm. seems, that they have limited the global bandwidth.
so i suggest, that you kick the omega.alba mirror & set in http://free.pages.at/moon-star/hfs/ Smiley

EDIT: i should go sleeping ... forgot the directory  Undecided Undecided
sorry  Lips Sealed
