i don't think i should use RAS for this, it is not the only way to be connected, someone could be behind a temporary non-working router.

i think i should simply keep trying to connect...or ping. Shouldn't I?

however RAS will come, when i'll add features specifically about it.

No you shouldn't if you try to ping on some pc windows would launch the ras connection dialog...
