Hello,

I've no found anywhere this function (forum, faq, etc) so I make this topic, sorry if the subect has already been treated.

I want to ban hosts and group of hosts (not the IP), for example :
*.videotron.ca
*.net
*bot*

Can you say me if there is a function to do this please ? Maby in a future version ?

This would require HFS to be able to resolve IP-adresses...which may not be so simple thing to to. But basically I'm for it.

sorry this feature isn't there.
translating from numbers to hostname is not difficult, but it is slow.
the problem in banning by hostname is that every connection should be
- translated (and this is slow)
- then accepted

this is not a problem for those who accept connections always from the same computers, because their addresses will be cached, and it will be slow only the first time.

anyway, i will put this thing in the to-do-list.
