I've replaced Übertragungen with Transfers, should be shorter.

Gesamte Objekte -> Alle Objekte
Gesamte Größe -> Ges. Größe
lv_root=Vom Hauptordner
lv_current=Von diesem Ordner

I specifically left out some strings, i might add lv_secs, but i consider it like GB and KB. I think i might just use Go in the button and leave it, its a fairly universal term. and if it isn't they'll get the general idea. Also i give you the option to change the charset in the language file. I did that mainly for the Asian languages cause UTF-8 should handle most other languages fine.

I will try those strings and your language file now.

To answer MarkV ascii should work fine.

lol i have emails and posts coming out of everywhere now lol.

So far we have, french(untested), german(almost), italian(untested). I will finish german before moving on to the others.

lv_root=Vom Hauptordner
lv_current=Von diesem Ordner

these are perfect, will change the others now and test.

Gesamte Objekte -> Alle Objekte
Gesamte Größe -> Ges. Größe

So i can use Ges. in place of Gesamte?

Also what about the string for Upload Files/Dateien hochladen or maybe just Dateien but maybe there is a context problem.
Finally the word for Home? Ladiko used the url, it cant be so.

Yes, Ges. is just an abbreviation for Gesamte, in lack of a better word lol.

What is the problem with Upload Files/Dateien hochladen exactly?

"Go" could be "Go" or "OK" in german. Both are common words for people under 40/50 - and i think people above this age are not the biggest target group for hfs ( sorry if i blame someone! >.< ).
In fact you are. Wink
I use HFS in a closed group and there is no one younger than 50.

But in fact "Go" isn't really a problem for anybody in Germany.
Alternatives would be: "Start" or "Los"

You always have to decide wether you want to really translate everything literally or just catch the meaning and so make a better translation.
I did some german translations for me some weeks ago and for instance decided to just add some ballon tips with more understandable German in cases of short not so clear translations.

Another thing is shoutbox. Every "pc-freak" knows what a shoubox is. A lot of other persons don't know. It's not so much a question of translation but more a question of knowing. I noticed that some people saw this on my site, but hey did not know what really happens, if they write something. Somebody asked me, wether I get an email with his writing.
So I translated it to "Mitteilungsbrett" and I think everybody in Germnay knows the meaning and the functionality of this.

"Hochladen" would be enough. There is no need to add "Dateien".

HI! lol

Ok, these are the problem strings.

Démarré depuis:

Total / téléchargements:

Envoyer des fichiers

Fermer la boite des Transferts

Other than those 4, it is a perfect translation, you even included ascii/hex Cheesy

I would like to know if it is a problem of long strings or another, because I already tried to do shorter. And even shorter seems difficult.

PS: One proposition.

Hmm it is better, but...

Fermer les Transferts (Can it go any smaller, you managed to get the open transfers to fit!)

Serveur Actif depuis (What is word for Uptime, it will work? or not?)

Horloge

Ok to solve this I put a break in the server uptime string, and Horloge i changed to Time, all there is to fix is the Open Transfers translation.

So far, English, German, Dutch, French(One problem), Italian(Fine, needs ascii though almost complete).

Sorry, I was wrong to bar "Fermer les Transferts."
Put just "Transferts" or "Ferme Transferts" is valid.

There is no equivalent in a single word for "Uptime" in french, but if you leave it in English, I am confident that nobody will die. Wink
