This build doesn't introduce great news. I waited a week to try collect more, but I had little time lately, and so it will be for some days.
There was that infamous bug on the rename, we waited too long.

download @ www.dovedove.it/hfs/hfs217.exe

what's new
+ shortcut to accounts from file properties
- rename broken in build #216
- new-line missing for empty folders in file listing http://www.rejetto.com/forum/index.php?topic=6403.msg1038897#msg1038897

ok.. so far so good... I havent noticed anything odd with 217...

tho as a suggestion.... testers should run a registry cleaner after updating or introducing new script commands..

www.comodo.com has a good one that doesnt require rebooting... and its free.. its listed under the free tools and downloads link near the bottom of the list.

What's in your HFS that isn't in rejetto's official HFS build?

It's just my opinion but if there are 2 different versions of the same build I think it would be better to start a new thread for the unofficial builds describing the changes you made.

It would really indeed be (wink on this subject for rejetto) to have a child board " external builds " here for the mutant versions, not only in "others languages", so it would be easier to find them and to discuss it

I found a bug! WOOOHOO!

when in the Properties window ... the MANAGE USER ACCOUNTS button remains static when resizing the window.

also.. every now and then the Properties tab gets overlayed by the 2nd tab and I have to click on a tab other than those two and then back on Properties to view the tab properly. I thought this was just a fluke at first but I have noticed it since build 215.

*******
also as a side note.. would like to suggest that on video.. and now I have found the anonymous access issue applies to mp3 files as well.... that the "ANONYMOUS" access flag ONLY applies to checked accounts on the properties page... also include that option per account in user management...

as far as I can tell the anonymous flag applies across the board rather than just the approved accounts.. this is not secure.

hello,

i have a trouble (no start) with the HFS.vfs load when too many request are opened at the start (all limit off),
curiously download accelerators are not well supported and need from users too adjust the parameters,
less slots or more time on request delay.
if not flashget (or else) can make easily crash hfs. (not only at the start load)
the only way to debug a too heavy process or the vfs load is to cut the Internet, adjust or store your hfs parameters (before a crash), connect again the web.

i have 3 crash today on one logged heavy user + an anonymous guest IP asking too much not protected files at the same time.
After the opening and at the start.

the actual solution...
i use the "max simultaneous download limit from single address" + a ban on the crashing guest IP to keep hfs stable.
(sorry for the crashing guest)

but "speed limit for single address" need more option.***
maybe
"Single Address User Downloading speed limit"
"Single Address Anonymous Downloading speed limit"
+ enable a filter on the file to speed limit, to exempt the html, css, js, xml, flw of the speed limit.
if not it slow also everybody on the html template view or your hosted web pages.
the idea is to limit only the files to download speed (DATA),
to free the CPU charge without slowing the html template view.

***
limit user (speed 1) .... sub level can be introduced ... happy user group ....unlucky user group.
limit guest (speed 2) ... for the security + useful.
no limit user (full speed)
no limit html file (full speed)

Good luck!

if it don't open normally, try to load your vfs file not connected to the web, and open the web slot when hfs is showing.

for me too HFS 217 is not stable, it cut the connection without any reason. (an auto tilt inside)
when bugged, save historic is not enable, the only thing to do is close HFS.

other little graphic bug, when you click on file properties, it don't show the good windows, it show the file masks text form. you need to open another window and return to the Permissions to see the users text box.
