simple question.

Access user = download and view list.
Guest = Can't download and view list. or Can't view by folder, file option.

with version 2.3 (currently in beta but quite stable) there's a way to do it. if interested.

as say rejetto , you have to use the the version  2.3  (actualy build 260)

attached template allow only identified users, to download or to archive a file by clicking on it.

but it is always possible to download the file by using the full url;)

that's not what i meant.
my advice is to revert to the template you was already using, and add something like this to the events file (ALT+F6)
