After 10 or 11 "pull the plug" restarts:
The VFS becomes blank.
I only have the blank VFS and corrupted VFS.

Help!!

first , save vfs to file and not to the registry

what is version of hfs you use .......
what is your system 98 xp 2000 vista ?

a max of information can help us.

Bulid 260 of HFS.
Windows XP.
I always saved the VFS.
However, I saved options always to the registry

Getting worse, I close HFS and instead of showing in the tray, it closes.

Shouldn't HFS have a auto-save feature?

When a vfs is corrupted, there is nothing to make, except in the case of the vfs is saved in a file: in that case a copy of the vfs is saved  in a .bak file.

Why was this necessary? Sound like you have system problems.
If you didn't have backup's of your vfs, ini, etc, I think you will have to rebuild your vfs.
(why'd it take 5 hrs?)

that's not your problem.
corruption happens mainly because the file is saved.... while the system crashes.
i'm sorry for your problem.
the best advice i can give is to always backup the files you don't want to lose, since no machine is faultless. Remember it's a beta version.
Look if you have another file near the corrupted one, hfs may have backupped it. Indeed, HFS has by default enabled the "backup on save" option, that will leave a ".bak" file in the same folder.
