Hello,
the selftest in HFS isn't reliable.
Often I get the message from users the server is not available.
How can I do a test myself,to see HFS is working correctly?

Go to a friend's house and connect to your server from there.

Try accessing your server through a proxie, so you will get from home the same result as from a friends pc.

the self test is giving some false-negatives,
but there are no false-positives that i know.
so, if you get an "ok", you can trust it.

I'm sorry, but the self test in HFS isn't reliable.
If you get an "ok",the only way to see if that's correct en HFS is "on air",
is to use a proxy and look for yourself if its working.

Please provide any reason or proof for your statement.

I can tell you why "false positives" can be considered out of question.

1. HFS performing a self-tests, connects to rejetto.com (over the internet), providing his own address (hfs' address).
2. rejetto.com connects to this address (hfs), and it makes a special request.
3. If the reply to the request is "hfs ok", then the server says to HFS "1".
4. HFS gets the "1" and knows all is well.

There's no way to connect to an address over the internet and getting an "hfs ok" by chance.
