I 'll suggest the filter option can specific to one or group user.
Because when I set the filter on the root directory, all the user's were affect.Thx

i should then support multiple filters, and each filter should be applied to an account list

i fear the benefits of this feature wouldn't worth the loss in usability

i suggest you to just duplicate the folder and set two different filters

if you fear one user to access the other folder (if they are not already password protected), just hide it
