When I try to start HFS I get this message from my a-squared: The program described above was trying to be executed. The scan result was that this file is infected by Malware. You are urgently advised to block this program! What's up with this??? I read on here that it was malware free!!! Doesn't look like it to me!!! Guess it gets deleted!

where did you download the hfs executable, it is possible a 3rd party infected it.

or more likely it has been detected as a false positive because it is a server.

I use A Squared trojan scanner also. It cries wolf often. Even with long standing tried and tested popular software. Take it with a pinch of salt mate !!! However I have never had a problem with it reporting HFS as a problem. I would get a new download from here and try again.

Hi Beezer, as foggy says, often servers are erroneously detected as malware.
This is the result of a multiple scan:

I fear this a-squared made you waste your time with a misleading warning. I would complaint with them ;)

I downloaded it right from the HFS site.......rejetto.com/hfs/?f=dl

Probably is a false positive but I don't want to take the chance, just isn't worth the risk!

Thanks to all that replied, much appreciated.

that's the result of this FUD practice involving many security products.
Shame on these companies.
