For some reason, my network has two routers (one built into the modem and then a second one).  I'm not sure how to access through two though.  I've tried setting up both to open the same port number going to the same final static IP (the IP of the computer) and I've tried port forwarding the first router to the second's IP then port forwarding the second's IP to the computer's static IP.  Neither work.

The first router is Zyxel EZ-660R and the second is some linksys if that helps.  I've tried following the Portforward website but its guide doesn't seem to work for my situation.

what is the ip's of both routers?

try setting the router connected to the internet to forward connections to the lan ip on your computer.

if you have ROUTER1 -> ROUTER2 -> PC
then ROUTER1 must forward to ROUTER2's ip address, not to your PC.

Oddly enough, I connected the first router directly to the computer (bypassing the second) and adjusted it to port directly to the computer's lan IP and it still failed the self test from HFS.  I guess its just this Embarq modem/router just isn't compatible or something.  I've tried two different computers.

if you put the straight router -> pc configuration, then the portforward guide should be enough to get it working.
try reapplying all the steps.

You could switch the modem into bridge mode, disabling the router.
