This Glossary is not a comprehensive computer science dictionary. Instead, it aims to provide a helpful guide to the language used in the HFS documentation.


Context file menu

Context menu
What you see when you right-click on a file, folder, application titlebar, or nearly any other object on the screen. This menu includes a list of actions appropriate to the clicked object. For file icons, the context menu depends upon the type of file, but includes Copy, Paste, Delete, Rename, Open, and Properties (among others).
DNS
Abbreviation for Domain Name System.
Dynamic DNS
Short for dynamic Domain Name System, a method of keeping a domain name linked to a changing IP address.
